Binance bans Russians from P2P operations in dollars and euros

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has imposed a set of restrictions for users of the P2P service in accordance with the EU’s tenth package of sanctions against Russia. ForkLog confirmed the information with platform representatives.

According to them, citizens of the Russian Federation, as well as any individuals residing in the country, regardless of nationality and citizenship, are prohibited from buying and selling dollars and euros on Binance’s P2P platform.

EU citizens, in turn, are barred from ruble-denominated operations through the service.

When attempting to carry out the above trades, the exchange suggests switching the currency to the local one.

“To continue using P2P, users can choose other available fiat currencies,” said a Binance spokesperson.

Earlier, crypto platforms reported a temporary suspension of operations through hryvnia bank cards.

Binance attributed this to an intensified fight against illegal gambling.
