Binance carried out a Trust Wallet token airdrop

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance conducted an airdrop of the Trust Wallet project’s native tokens worth several million dollars, aimed at informing users about the benefits of non-custodial wallets.

#Binance Distributes @TrustWalletapp $TWT Airdrop.

Eligible users have until 2021/01/05 0:00 AM (UTC) to withdraw their #TWT tokens to a Trust Wallet #BSC address.

The TWT tokens were issued to exchange account holders who participated in spot, margin or futures trading between December 14 and 21.

“Disseminating TWT among Binance users will increase awareness, education, and access to non-custodial wallets. It opens up for people the opportunity to learn about dapps, governance, and the advantages of truly decentralized financial services,” said Trust Wallet founder Victor Radchenko.

Binance acquired Trust Wallet in 2018; it is a non-custodial mobile wallet for digital assets.

According to Radchenko, in March 2020 the team began experimenting, offering Trust Wallet users the opportunity to earn through social mining — receiving rewards in TWT for educating people about cryptocurrencies.

Trust Wallet community members can also use the tokens to vote on governance issues.

“By handing TWT into the hands of crypto-traders, we hope they will learn more about non-custodial wallets, and how to control their funds,” the statement said.

Last year, the Trust Wallet team introduced a version of the wallet for the macOS operating system.
