Binance comments on blocking of Russians’ crypto cards for EU residents
Several media outlets, citing users of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance reported that the platform allegedly began blocking Russians’ crypto cards.
According to circulating information, this affected clients who completed verification with a Russian passport and obtained a physical card on the basis of a residence permit in the EEA.
In a ForkLog interview, Binance representatives said that, at present, no restrictions on the use of crypto cards for holders of a valid residence permit in the EEA have been imposed.
Last week Binance, without prior notice reinstated support for transactions with cards issued by Russian banks, including Visa and Mastercard. Top-ups are processed through the Qiwi payment gateway.
Earlier reports indicated the removal of the €10 000 deposit limit for deposits on Russian users’ platform accounts.
