Binance’s venture arm announced strategic investments in the Star Sharks project as part of developing the gaming sector within the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) ecosystem, ForkLog has learned from company representatives.
The funding will enable the creators — a team from Timi Studio Group — to attract new talent to prepare the next generation of blockchain games.
Star Sharks is a community-governed metaverse. Participants, developers and investors can own, unite and trade NFT sharks. According to a press release, 80% of the revenue will be directed to token holders.
The first game Starsharks.Warriors is built on BSC — its launch was scheduled for November 2021.
“In Star Sharks we strive to ensure that everyone has fair and equal rights to access decentralized games,” said the project’s CEO Frankie.
The team announced a new referral mechanism that will reward activity of recruited players. Star Sharks will also add a non-fungible token rental feature on its marketplace.
Earlier in October Binance Labs invested in the music NFT platform Melos Studio.
