The cryptocurrency exchange Binance hired Steven Christie as vice president of regulatory compliance, who for more than four years oversaw a similar function at Kraken. This, reports Wall Street Journal.
Christie has worked in the crypto industry since 2015. Previously, he held the post of head of the compliance department at Bitcoin custodian Xapo Bank.
According to Binance, its compliance team, including the cyber-investigations unit, currently numbers more than 750 people.
Kraken plans to hire a new director of regulatory compliance in the coming weeks.
Earlier it became known that the exchange’s co-founder Jess Powell would leave the post of CEO. His place will be taken by chief operating officer Dave Ripley.
