Binance names regional head for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the appointment of Kirill Khomyakov as head for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia.

Among his tasks will be improving the company’s products and services, educational initiatives, the development of fiat channels, and the optimization of the user experience in key markets across 14 countries in the region.

He will also oversee the marketing strategy and engage in dialogue with local government and public organizations.

Kirill Khomyakov joined Binance in January 2022, initially leading the Ukraine market. Later he headed the exchange’s operations in the CEE region.

Before joining Binance, Khomyakov spent 15 years working in various banking, financial and governmental organisations, including leadership positions. He also held the post of CEO of the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine and CEO of a blockchain-based software development company.

Earlier in September, Binance announced the departures of Gleb Kostarev, director for Eastern Europe, and Vladimir Smerkis, director for the CIS.

Also among those seeking a new role were Binance’s Asia-Pacific head Leon Foong, Chief Strategy Officer Patrick Hillmann, and Chief Legal Officer Han Ng.

Later it became known about the termination of employment with Binance.US’s Head of Legal Krishna Juvvadi and Head of Risk Sidney Majaglia.

Earlier, amid regulatory pressure resigned the head of Binance UK.
