Binance Resumes Withdrawals Following AWS Outage

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has resumed withdrawals, which were temporarily halted due to a disruption at an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center. The team is working to fully restore the platform’s operations.

“Please note that some services might experience delays while the system fully recovers. We will continue to monitor to ensure that all operations run smoothly. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the exchange stated.

KuCoin reported “temporary disruptions” due to “large-scale network outages” at AWS. The platform assured users of the safety of their assets and personal data.

An analytical DeFi platform also warned of temporary unavailability of its services due to the cloud provider’s outage.

“Our team is continuously monitoring the situation and will restore access as soon as possible,” the project stated.

Social media users noted that alongside AWS, numerous internet services and applications, including Microsoft Azure, Google, Visa, and X, experienced issues.

Experts concluded that the February $1.46 billion hack of the Bybit exchange was executed through the Safe (Wallet) infrastructure, whose resources were stored in the AWS cloud.
