Binance Secures $2 Billion Investment from MGX

The Abu Dhabi-based investment firm specializing in AI and advanced technologies, MGX, has injected $2 billion into the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. This was reported to ForkLog by representatives of the trading platform.

This funding marks the first institutional and largest investment for the exchange. It is known that Binance received the funds in stablecoins, though the team has not disclosed further details.

The investment signifies MGX’s initial foray into the cryptocurrency sector. The company aims to foster innovation at the intersection of AI, blockchain, and finance.

“As institutional adoption accelerates, the need for secure, compliant, and scalable blockchain infrastructure and solutions has never been greater. Binance has long been a driving force for innovation in cryptocurrency, from exchange technologies and tokenization to staking and payments,” stated MGX CEO Ahmed Yahya.

Binance CEO Richard Teng described MGX’s investment as “a significant milestone for the crypto industry and for the exchange.”

“Our goal is to build a more inclusive and sustainable ecosystem with a focus on compliance, security, and user protection,” he added.

Back in late 2024, former Binance head Changpeng Zhao recognized the advantages of combining AI and blockchain and urged the development of products at the intersection of these technologies.
