The cryptocurrency exchange Binance will continue to serve Belgian customers through its Polish subsidiary. In a company blog, it is stated.
“Binance Poland sp. z o.o. is now an entity that provides Binance services for Belgian residents. By doing so, Binance guarantees that it complies with its regulatory obligations and can continue to provide services to Belgian users,” the exchange representatives stressed.
For ongoing operations, clients will need to accept a new user agreement and re-run certain KYC-verifications in line with Polish law.
“Binance will be able to continue serving Belgian users in accordance with local regulatory requirements,” the company added.
In June 2023, the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority ordered Binance to immediately cease the provision of services related to digital assets in the country.
Earlier it was reported that the platform withdrew license applications in the United Kingdom, in Germany, in Austria, in Cyprus and announced its withdrawal from the Netherlands.
On June 5, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed suit against Binance and its chief executive Changpeng Zhao. The regulator brought 13 charges, including the sale of unregistered securities.
