The island territory became the fourth U.S. jurisdiction to grant Binance.US such approval in 2022. Earlier, similar decisions were made by the states of West Virginia, Connecticut and Wyoming.
«After the successful closing of the seed round, we are very pleased to accelerate the pace of obtaining this license and thank Puerto Rico for the trust,” said the company’s CEO Brian Shroder.
According to the statement, Binance.US operates in 45 states and seven territories. The platform lists more than 90 cryptocurrencies.
Earlier in April 2022, the U.S. arm raised $200m at a $4.5bn valuation.
