Binance US to suspend Ripple trading in January

On January 13, Binance.US will delist the Ripple (XRP) token. Trading and deposits will be suspended.

Binance US assured that withdrawing XRP will not be affected.

Also, despite the delisting of the Ripple token, users will be able in 2021 to claim Spark (FLR) tokens due to them through the airdrop.

Last week the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple. The regulator alleges that the California-based company sold unregistered securities in the form of XRP over seven years.

In recent days a number of major platforms, including Galaxy Digital, Bitstamp and B2C2, announced a suspension of XRP trading for residents of the United States. OKCoin and Coinbase will remove support for XRP for users across all serviced regions.

Back in September 2019, Binance’s U.S. arm began operating.
