BIS opens vacancy for blockchain specialist

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has posted a vacancy for a technical expert in blockchain technologies. He will oversee the organisation’s initiatives in the field of digital assets, as stated in the description.

BIS will consider as candidates software engineers and solution architects with knowledge of Python, Java, C++, Scala, Go, Solidity, or PHP. An important condition for BIS is the experience in distributed ledger technology, cryptography and cyber security.

The technical expert will work on projects developing central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenised securities and token-based payment systems.

\n

The contract runs for three years and provides for work at the BIS Centre for Innovation in Hong Kong or Switzerland.

\n

Earlier, BIS stated that the COVID-19 pandemic could accelerate the transition to CBDCs. The bank did not see such potential in stablecoins.

\n

In August, Goldman Sachs opened a vacancy for vice president of the Digital Assets division.
