BIT Mining Limited abandons plans to build a data centre in Kazakhstan

BIT Mining Limited, a mining company, has abandoned plans to build a data centre for cryptocurrency mining in Kazakhstan due to power-supply issues in the country. This is stated in the company’s documents.

The equipment the company has placed at other sites in the country will continue to operate there.

In Kazakhstan, BIT Mining Limited operates Bitcoin miners with a combined hashrate of 292.7 PH/s.

The report also states that its revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 was $495.8 million.

In May last year BIT Mining Limited announced to invest more than $9 million in a data centre in Kazakhstan. In June, the company reported the delivery of 320 miners to the country.

At the same time, conditions for miners in Kazakhstan began to change. Due to electricity shortages, they started restricting shipments, prompting the business to seek other jurisdictions to host their equipment.
