The cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex announced it would cease serving users from Ukraine, Belarus, Burundi, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua and Panama. For some customers the changes take effect immediately, for others—after 14 days.
The explained its decision as a necessity to maintain high standards of compliance:
“For regulatory reasons, we will not be able to provide our services to clients from certain jurisdictions.”
Users from the listed countries will not be able to trade on the platform, deposit or withdraw funds from their exchange accounts.
According to a recently published Chainalysis report, Ukraine took first place in the world by the number of active cryptocurrency users.
