Bitcoin exchange web traffic fell by more than 14% in September

Visits to cryptocurrency exchanges in September fell 14.6% from August’s figure, according to a report by The Block.

In the last month of summer, exchange web traffic posted a yearly high of 144.3 million visits. In September the figure stood at 123.2 million visits.

Despite the decline in visits, the month was the second-highest for exchange web traffic in 2020.

Binance led the rankings — 35.6 million visits, or 28.9% of the total. The top three also included Coinbase with 23.7 million visits and 19.2% share, and OKEx with 6.3 million visits or 5.1%. The corresponding figures for the US BitMEX, which is experiencing regulatory issues, were 5.4 million visits or 4.4%.

In spot-market trading volumes, September also lagged behind August — $169 billion versus $191.2 billion.
