Bitcoin mentions on Twitter reach a new high

From February 7 to 14, Twitter users mentioned Bitcoin more than 675,000 times in their posts. According to Block Research, the figure is 17% higher than the previous high.

The previous record was set on January 10, when the weekly number of posts mentioning Bitcoin reached 576,000.

The audience of cryptocurrency exchanges on Twitter grew by almost 175,000 new followers.

According to Google Trends data, the popularity of the search term “bitcoin” in February nearly reached January’s highs.

The greatest interest in the digital gold is shown in Nigeria, Austria, Switzerland, South Africa, and Slovenia.

On February 21, the price of the first cryptocurrency reached $58,000. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading around $56,300. The asset’s market capitalization stands at $1.047 trillion, according to CoinGecko.

Analysts at BDCenter Digital found that 70% of cryptocurrency mentions on Twitter come from on 30 accounts.
