Bitcoin miners’ revenue in August neared $1.4 billion

Bitcoin miners’ total revenue for August reached $1.36 billion.

This is 40% higher than in July — $972.6 million. The maximum monthly revenue was recorded in March, when it reached $1.67 billion.

The rise in miners’ income was helped by Bitcoin price recovery. At the start of August, prices were around $40,000, and on the 23rd they breached the $50,000 level. In early September the rate again rose above this level.

The overwhelming majority of miners’ monthly revenue came from the block reward, which has stood at 6.25 BTC since the halving in May 2020. In August, miners earned $1.39 billion from this.

The share of fees in revenue fell to 1.32% from 3.5% in July. This metric has fallen for the fourth consecutive month.

In August, Ethereum miners’ revenue reached $1.65 billion, which was 60% higher than in July.
