Bitcoin’s Rise
On the morning of November 22, Bitcoin reached a new all-time high, climbing above $99,000. Less than 1% remains to reach the coveted $100,000 mark. Bitcoin’s market capitalization hit $1.958 trillion, closely approaching Google’s.
The cryptocurrency fear and greed index reached 94 points, indicating “extreme greed” in the market.
Among the positive news:
- trading of options on BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF has begun;
- MicroStrategy raised $3 billion to purchase digital gold;
- Michael Saylor will discuss creating a Bitcoin reserve with Microsoft.
CryptoQuant identified five key indicators warning of a local peak formation. Currently, only one is signaling a bearish trend.
Analysts from Bernstein identified key catalysts that will push Bitcoin to a target level of $200,000 in 2025.
CryptoQuant founder and CEO Ki Young Ju believes the target price for digital gold in the current cycle is $135,000.
Robert Kiyosaki agreed with MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor’s forecast of Bitcoin at $13 million. He urged buying the first cryptocurrency.
Hamster Kombat Plans Player Return
Developers of Hamster Kombat anticipated player departures and intend to attract participants from the first season as well as new users.
The project “managed to retain the core group” of players, comprising 30 million users who are “actively engaged in gameplay” after the first airdrop.
Telegram Mini-App Update
Telegram developers released a major update that enabled mini-apps to have full-screen mode, home screen icons, access to geolocation, and other features.
Apps can now use the full screen in either vertical or horizontal orientation.
They can send accumulated stars (Telegram Stars) as gifts, for example, for achievements in a game. Privacy settings allow managing this option through the profile.
Gary Gensler’s Departure, Trump Appoints Crypto Advocates
Donald Trump and his transition team are discussing the possibility of creating a White House position focused on digital assets.
US presidents appoint so-called “czars” to address high-priority issues like climate change and border security.
The initiative is being discussed with industry leaders. Approval would provide the digital asset industry with a specific official to discuss industry priorities and indirectly engage with the head of state.
The much-disliked SEC head Gary Gensler will leave his post on January 20, 2025. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s team has expanded the list of candidates for the SEC head position. Another contender is Teresa Goody Guillén, a partner at the law firm BakerHostetler.
Other candidates include:
- partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP Robert Stebbins;
- chief legal officer at Robinhood Dan Gallagher;
- former acting head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks;
- former SEC commissioners Brad Bondi and Paul Atkins.
