Bitcoin network records a $1.1 billion transaction

On October 26, the Bitcoin network осуществили a transaction of 88,857 BTC (about $1.15 billion). According to Whale Alert, the sender’s address belongs to custodian Xapo.

Previously, the sender had transferred bitcoins from an address that held 92,857 BTC.

In the past, such large transactions were carried out by Bitfinex ($1.1 billion at the time of the transfer) and Binance ($1.26 billion at the time of the transfer).

The largest BTC-equivalent transaction occurred on 16 November 2011 — 500 000 BTC.

Such transactions are not uncommon for Xapo, though they typically do not exceed 5,000 BTC.
