The balance of bitcoins stored on exchanges neared a low not seen since 24 November 2018. On Monday, August 17, this metric fell to 2.61 million BTC, according to data from analytics firm Glassnode.

In February, the balance of bitcoins on exchanges peaked at a two-year high, topping 2.95 million BTC. Since then, the figure has fallen by almost 9%.
