On Friday, 30 April, the message bearing the artist’s signature appeared beneath Big Ben and on the façade of the Bank of England.
The projection photograph was already minted as an NFT and listed on the marketplace Rarible. As of this writing, the price had not been announced.
In one version, the act by an unknown Bitcoin supporter may be linked to vacancies posted by the Bank of England for studying CBDC.
In April 2021, the Bank of England and His Majesty’s Treasury began a joint study of digital currency. Officials noted that the launch was not yet finally decided, and that, if launched, a CBDC would merely supplement cash.
