Bitcoin Ultimatum launches its mainnet

The Bitcoin Ultimatum (BTCU) project announced the launch of its mainnet, according to Bitcoinist.

The new Bitcoin fork is intended to address scalability. According to the developers, the network operates on a combination of Proof-of-Stake and Proof-of-Authority.

The network supports smart contracts. The developers promised fast micropayments.

For performance testing, the mainnet was also launched on the Orion Network platform. It enables users to download a wallet to operate in a test environment.

Earlier, the OKExChain mainnet was launched by the OKEx exchange.
