Bitfinex’s chief technology officer Paolo Ardoino has shared details of the exchange’s hot and cold wallet balances. The estimated value of the platform’s reserves surpassed $5 billion.

According to Ardoino, Bitfinex stores the following:
- 204,338 BTC ($3.44 billion at the time of writing);
- 2018.5 L-BTC ($34 million);
- approximately 1,000 BTC on Lightning Network ($16.8 million);
- 1,225,600 ETH ($1.54 billion).
Ardoino also reminded readers of the open-source Antani library, created by the exchange in 2018. Bitfinex intends to revive the project to enable users to verify their balances.
Earlier, information about the reserves was shared by the Huobi cryptocurrency exchange. Its hot and cold wallets hold assets worth $3.5 billion.
