Bitfinex launches P2P services in Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela

The Bitfinex exchange has launched P2P services in Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela for buying and selling crypto assets.

Latin American Bitfinex P2P users will be able to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum, stablecoins USDT and EURT, as well as tokenized gold Tether Gold (XAUT).

«We believe in the transformative power of Bitcoin and other digital assets, as well as the importance of expanding access to innovative financial technologies worldwide», — remarked Paolo Ardoino, Bitfinex’s chief technology officer.

In February, LocalBitcoins announced its closure. The service had been operating since 2012 and enjoyed considerable popularity. In April Paxful shut down. In May, its co-founder Ray Yussef announced plans to launch a “censorship-resistant and globally accessible” clone of the P2P service named Civ Kit.
