BitFlyer and Brave to launch a cryptocurrency wallet in November

Japanese exchange BitFlyer and the developers of the privacy-focused Brave browser plan to introduce a wallet for BAT tokens in November 2020.

In early July, partners announced a collaboration to enable Brave users in Japan to receive native Brave tokens paid for viewing ads in the browser.

Currently, Japanese users do not have this option due to regulatory norms in the country; the browser awards them points.

BitFlyer explained that upon launch, participants in the Brave Rewards program in the country will be credited with the corresponding amount of BAT. The wallet will be linked to a BitFlyer account.

Users will also be able to send tokens to content creators and convert them to yen.

As previously noted, Brave developers integrated a Gemini exchange widget into the browser, allowing trading and storage of cryptocurrencies on the Winklevoss brothers’ platform.
