On June 1, the Singapore-based crypto-derivatives exchange Bitget.com named Grace Chen to the role of managing director, according to the platform’s press release.
The appointment comes amid rising popularity of Bitget and leadership’s plan to enter new markets. The platform reported a record daily derivative trading volume of $8.69 billion, up 300% versus 2021.
Grace Chen previously worked as a producer for Phoenix TV’s technology and finance channel, one of China’s largest media conglomerates. She later joined XRSPACE, a Taiwanese company specialising in virtual-reality and metaverse technologies, where she headed the marketing and business development division and oversaw government and public relations.
At Bitget, Chen will oversee growth and expansion of global markets, strategy, execution and corporate development. She will also work on increasing brand recognition and its presence in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
As an early investor in BitKeep, a subsidiary of Bitget, I have observed the brand’s development for many years. I am thrilled to join such an organisation and a team of focused and intelligent people. Bitget plans to build an extensive ecosystem and become a bridge that connects CeFi and DeFi, Web2 and Web3,” said Grace Chen.
CEO Bitget Sandra Lu commented:
We are very pleased that a professional of Grace Chen’s calibre has joined us. We look forward to leveraging her experience to further strengthen our growth strategies in international markets,” she explained.
