BitKeep wallet users lose about $8 million in hack

Unknown attackers breached the BitKeep cryptocurrency wallet and stole users’ assets worth about $8 million, PeckShield researchers said.

Losses include approximately 4,373 BNB, 5.4 million USDT, 196,000 DAI and 1,233.21 ETH. CertiK experts noted that the attack is ongoing and that hackers are transferring funds to multiple addresses.

Representatives of the BitKeep team said that the official Android app was hacked. According to them, the attackers injected malware into the downloaded APK file of the wallet.

In October, the project was hit by a Swap service attack; user losses were around $1 million.
