“This strategic decision will accelerate delivery and enhance service efficiency for North American customers,” the company stated.
According to the announcement, the first batch of Antminer S21 Pro miners will be delivered in December.
The production launch in the US was announced amidst the arrival of a new government administration. Newly elected President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed intentions to raise taxes on imports from China and other BRICS countries. Additionally, his campaign rhetoric emphasized the desire to relocate more manufacturing to the country.
Another factor influencing Bitmain’s decision was prolonged delays in importing equipment into the US. According to media reports at the end of November 2024, hundreds of Antminer S21 and T21 ASIC miners spent at least a month in customs warehouses awaiting approval.
Earlier, on November 9 at the Bitcoin MENA 2024 conference in Abu Dhabi, MicroBT unveiled a new line of bitcoin miners, the WhatsMiner M6хS++.
