November proved to be the record month for stolen cryptocurrency in 2023, with the greatest losses concentrated on platforms linked to Tron co-founder Justin Sun. ForkLog reported this, citing analytics firm BitOK.
According to its calculations, investors lost $329.8 million in digital assets as a result of the cyber incidents. This figure is $22 million higher than in September 2023, but $183 million lower than data for November 2022.
Of the nine incidents, only two occurred outside the Ethereum ecosystem. Almost half of the hacks were carried out via private-key compromises.
Earlier, Immunefi researchers estimated that since the start of 2023 the crypto industry has faced 296 cases of hacks and fraud.
