The European cryptocurrency brokerage Bitpanda has appointed former JPMorgan top executive Joshua Barraclough as chief executive of its institutional Bitcoin exchange Bitpanda Pro.

Previously, Barraclough was co-head of digital innovation and head of the fintech division at JPMorgan.
“As cryptocurrencies become mainstream, the need for tools that enable following traditional investing strategies and account for the nuances characteristic of digital assets”, — he said in an interview with CoinDesk.
In the blog, the company said it was seeking professionals for a range of roles.
Earlier in August Bitpanda attracted $263 million from Alan Howard and Valar Ventures’ Peter Thiel, and other investors. The company’s valuation stood at $4.1 billion. The funds raised were earmarked for international expansion and scaling the business.
