The world’s largest investment company, BlackRock, has posted a vice-presidential vacancy in blockchain, as stated on the site.
The executive’s duties will include crafting and implementing strategies designed to stimulate demand for the company’s cryptocurrency offerings.
BlackRock is seeking a specialist who understands the fundamentals of blockchain technology and the methodology for valuing cryptocurrency assets. The successful candidate should have a background in economics or business administration, and an understanding of decentralized governance models.
As of 30 September 2020, BlackRock managed assets worth $7.81 trillion.
The Fund Advisors division owns 14.79% of the shares of MicroStrategy, the analytics software provider. In December the latter invested in bitcoin additional $650 mln — altogether it owns about 70,470 BTC.
Earlier, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink signaled the transformation of the first cryptocurrency into a global-market asset.
