Blockchain.com users temporarily lose access to wallets after data centre fire

On 9 March, around 15:00 MSK, an outage affected Blockchain.com’s cryptocurrency wallets. Users of the mobile and web versions of the service could not log in.

The company confirmed that a problem affected a large number of customers.

“All funds are secure, but at the moment customers cannot access their wallets,” the statement said.

Blockchain.com specialists are investigating the incident.

The company urged users to stay vigilant and not to trust third-party accounts offering supposedly to help resolve the fault. Full information on the situation will be available in Blockchain.com’s official groups.

Update: Company representatives reported an elevated level of errors in the service. The investigation continues.


Update: According to the latest information, the outage was caused by a fire at one of Blockchain.com’s data centres. The support team has switched to around-the-clock operations to reroute wallet activity to other data centres. The exchange’s infrastructure and users’ funds were not affected.


Update: The company said the cause of the outage has been resolved.
