In India, Polygon deployed to issue government certificates
Authorities in the Indian state of Maharashtra began issuing government certificates to citizens with the help of the Polygon network in collaboration with blockchain startup LegitDoc.
The initiative is being rolled out under the Digital India programme. Certificates are planned to be issued to more than a million low-income residents of Gadchiroli district.

President of the regulator Niku Marku noted that accelerating digitisation of its operations has become one of the regulator’s main tasks. He said that today it is hard to operate effectively without modern technologies.
California proposes blockchain to combat employment fraud
California state Assembly member Jordan Cunningham proposed a bill to study the potential use of blockchain in the labour and employment sector.
According to the document, the California Office of Digital Innovation will review the initiative. In Cunningham’s view, the measure would speed up identification of citizens and avert fraud.
The bill also aims to increase the efficiency of social benefit payments, simplify checks and optimise the operation of the unemployment insurance system.
Lockheed Martin to deploy blockchain for secure satellite communications
The American defence contractor Lockheed Martin, together with software developer SpiderOak, will implement blockchain to ensure the security of satellite communications. Space News reports.
The OrbitSecure system will provide joint access and control using end-to-end encryption. The technology will be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s satellite-control systems.
