
Blockstream buys $25 million worth of WhatsMiner Bitcoin miners from MicroBT
Blockstream has purchased $25 million worth of WhatsMiner Bitcoin miners from Shenzhen-based MicroBT.

“With more than 300 megawatts of mining capacity and growing institutional demand, we will continue to aggressively expand in 2021,” said company representatives.
The devices will be deployed at Blockstream facilities in Canada and the United States. Technical specifications, delivery timelines and deployment of the ASIC miners are unknown.
“Blockstream currently offers mining services to companies seeking turnkey solutions. Among our clients are Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technologies (FCAT), LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, and many others,” the company said in a blog post.
Earlier, MicroBT opened a service centre for residents of the CIS at Kazakhstan’s largest data centre, Enegix.
