The Bloomberg Terminal enables financial professionals and industry specialists to use the Bloomberg Professional service, designed to monitor and analyse market movements in real time.
Cryptocurrency quotes were added to the system in 2013. The first digital asset was Bitcoin. In 2018 the offering was expanded to 10 assets. In the same year data for the first industry indices appeared on the platform.
According to the press release, Bloomberg developed a “rigorous vetting model” for assets seeking inclusion in the system. The process involves assessing institutional-grade custody support, access to trading, market capitalisation, and liquidity.
Earlier in February 2022, media reported plans for Elwood Technologies to integrate its platform into Bloomberg’s order-management system.
