The BNB Chain team has launched the second-layer solution opBNB mainnet with access for infrastructure providers.
“This journey began on June 19, 2023 with the launch of the testnet. And since then, 1.5 months have flown by in a whirlwind of progress,” the project’s blog.
At its core, opBNB is a set of OP Stack software from Optimism. The protocol uses the scaling technology Optimistic Rollups.
As of writing, TVL of the ecosystem stands at $1.21 million.
Earlier in June, the launch of the EVM-compatible testnet took place.
According to the BNB Chain team, the protocol processes around 4,000 transactions per second, with costs under $0.005.
