BNB Chain Developers Report Ecosystem Growth
The number of daily active users on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) has reached 1.2 million, while opBNB boasts 2.7 million. This was revealed in a press release presented to ForkLog in celebration of BNB Chain’s fourth anniversary.
The total number of unique wallets on the BSC network increased by 30.4% over the past 12 months, surpassing 458 million. The blockchain processed an average of 4 million transactions per day, with opBNB handling 4.8 million.
The ecosystem hosts nearly 800 “live” decentralized applications, with 189 new dapps joining over the year. The TVL of BSC reached $4.82 billion.
Other achievements include:
- the launch of a unified multichain ecosystem under the One BNB initiative, integrating BSC, opBNB, and Greenfield to ensure seamless interaction between decentralized computing and data storage solutions;
- expansion of initiatives to support developers and startups, with $7 million allocated from Q3 2023 to Q2 2024;
- opBNB’s performance reaching 10,000 transactions per second (TPS);
- implementation of transactions with BLOB object transfers to reduce costs in L2 solutions;
- optimization of gasless transfers;
- enhanced security measures, reducing losses by 87% compared to the previous year;
- improvements to the BC Fusion management system, integrating BNB Beacon Chain and BSC.
“Our ultimate goal is to attract the next billion Web3 users with a cost-effective, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports the next generation of decentralized applications,” the press release states.
By the end of 2024, plans include:
- completing the merger of different BNB Chain networks;
- providing node clients based on Rust in addition to Geth and Erigon;
- launching a new state storage model and its expiration;
- focusing on the development of “real-world” applications;
- adding full support for gasless transactions;
- developing infrastructure to attract users.
Back in September 2020, the main Binance Smart Chain network was introduced. In February 2022, the team announced a rebranding to BNB Chain. The new name highlighted the network’s connection to the BNB token and its use beyond Binance.
