BNB Chain Reduces Fees by 90% with BEP 336 Implementation

On June 20, the BNB Chain ecosystem activated the BEP 336 Haber hard fork, which enabled a 90% reduction in transaction costs for L2 solutions compared to current levels.

The update introduces BLOB objects into the network, capable of capturing large volumes of data, up to 128 KB each. Instead of verifying each transaction within a block individually, the network will only verify the data within the attached BLOB.

The temporary storage mechanism ensures a compact and efficient blockchain network, enhancing overall network performance.

According to developers, the update will benefit users of all second-layer solutions on the BNB Chain Smart Chain. Specifically, opBNB will see further cost reductions to approximately $0.0001.

Earlier, BNB Chain and Binance Labs launched the BNB Incubation Alliance to support early-stage Web3 projects.
