
Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT sells for nearly $1.4 million
The owner of the non-fungible token (NFT) Bored Ape Yacht Club #9452 sold it for 4,337 times its purchase price — for 347 ETH (nearly $1.4 million at the time of writing).

“I bought my ape for 0.08 ETH on minting night and just sold it for 347 ETH. I am at a loss for words. I am crying so much. Thank you Bored Ape Yacht Club for completely changing my life,” wrote photographer John Knopf.
On May 1, 2021, four NFTs from Yuga Labs were minted for 0.32 ETH, with the price of each at 0.08 ETH.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club token #9452 was not the most expensive in the collection. In October, NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club #8585 sold for 696.969 ETH (about $2.8 million at the time of the deal).
Earlier in November, daily sales on OpenSea doubled due to a surge of interest in the ape NFT collection.
In December Adidas announced a collaboration with NFT projects Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney and PunksComic in the metaverse.
