The feature is available to Twitter users. In the near term, the team plans to add Reddit, Discord, Twitch, Telegram and Mastodon, as well as fiat currency support.

The Bottlepay app is built using a Lightning Network scaling solution. It enables international micro-transfers, tips and donations in Bitcoin and fiat currencies in real time.

Lightning Network: fast and cheap Bitcoin transactions

In late 2019, BottlePay announced the closure of the project following the entry into force of the EU Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive.

In July 2020, the developers promised to release a beta version of an improved application.

As a reminder, in February 2021 Bottlepay raised £11m (~$15.5m) in a seed round with billionaire Alan Howard, partners at Goldman Sachs, FinTech Collective and the crypto platform NYDIG.
