Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple will find an XRP alternative if needed

Ripple will offer the market an XRP alternative product if it loses the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit. This was stated by the firm’s chief executive Brad Garlinghouse in an interview with CNN.

\u201CIf we lose the case, though I do not anticipate that scenario, we will create a new product to replace XRP. We are always thinking several steps ahead, which is why RippleNet has so many partners and multi‑billion‑dollar projects,\u201D he clarified.

In an HBO interview, he spoke about a completely different future for XRP. Garlinghouse claimed that the token would continue to trade even if Ripple disappeared.

Earlier, the head of the company said he expects to discuss the status of XRP with Gary Gensler after his appointment as SEC chair.

\n\n\n\n

In December 2020, the Commission accused Ripple of selling unregistered securities in the form of tokens worth $1.3 billion.
