On October 7, a documentary film, “Coinbase, The Founder’s Story,” will be released on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes and YouTube, covering the last three years of the exchange and the crypto market. The project was presented by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.

The film will tell the story of the “good, the bad, and the ugly” process of building a tech startup from scratch.
The director was Greg Kohs, known for Song Sung Blue, The Great Alone and AlphaGo. He aimed to portray, without gilding, the challenges of venture entrepreneurship and to inspire others who plan to take this path.
The team, laureate of several film festivals, was granted “unprecedented access” to Coinbase, capturing “the crazy highs and lows of this period.”
Armstrong said he wanted to portray startup founders as ordinary people trying to build a product that people need. He said that everyone in the industry believes in the possibility of shaping a fair, free, and global financial system.
The Coinbase CEO expressed hope that the film would help popularize digital finance.
Earlier this August, director Christopher Cannucciari and White Paper Filmsannounced the start of work on the documentary “I Am Not Satoshi.”
Earlier, British film company Substantial Films announced that they are working on the black comedy “Decrypted.” The plot centers on a team of АНБ, which abducts Nakamoto and forces him to reveal information needed for the government to destroy cryptocurrency.
In July 2021, a crowdfunding campaign for a documentary about Vitalik Buterin raised $1.9 million in three days on the Mirror platform.
In spring 2022, it became known that Scott Free Productions is adapting the book by journalist Camilla Russo. It tells how Ethereum’s co-founder rallied a group of developers around the idea of creating a “world computer.”
