Brian Armstrong urges Coinbase employees unhappy with mission to resign

Employees of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase who disagree with the company’s new mission should resign. This is stated in a letter from the CEO of the trading platform, Brian Armstrong.

Employees at Coinbase may submit their resignation requests until October 7, 2020. They will receive four months’ severance pay and health insurance for six months. Those who stay automatically agree to the new rules.

“Life is too short to work for a company you don’t like,” Armstrong noted.

Head of Coinbase announced the changes a few days earlier. For the company’s mission he defined “building the infrastructure for the crypto economy.”

The company declines to participate in discussions on political and social issues unless they directly affect the cryptocurrency industry. According to CoinDesk, not all employees are satisfied with the new course.

Earlier, on September 24, Coinbase announced the appointment of new top executives. Former Google, Venmo and Adobe employees joined the team to work on new products.
