BCB Treasury will give clients access to Bitcoin and other digital assets. It will enable corporations to trade, manage, and store cryptocurrency as part of their strategy.

“We are seeing some strong signals attracting companies to the digital assets space,” said Oliver von Landsberg-Sädi, chief executive of BCB Group.

Dubai-based Falcon Corporate Services FZC became the first client of the new service. It earmarked 75% of its reserves for Bitcoin, worth several million dollars, noted von Landsberg-Sädi.

BCB Group provides payments services in more than 20 fiat and digital currencies, and acts as a cryptocurrency custodian. Its clients include Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp and Galaxy Digital.

In January 2020, the subsidiary BCB Payments received a licence as a payments institution from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

MicroStrategy became the first publicly listed company, having invested a portion of its capital in bitcoin.

In February 2021 MicroStrategy announced a new $600 million debt offering to buy digital gold.

Earlier it was revealed that electric-car maker Tesla invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin. Later, founder Elon Musk described these holdings as quite risky. He hinted that the decision did not originate with him.

Listed on several stock exchanges, SynBiotic SE announced that it had become the first publicly traded company in Germany to move a portion of its free liquidity into bitcoin.
