Burger King to reward U.S. customers with Bitcoin and Dogecoin

The fast-food chain Burger King and online broker Robinhood have reached an agreement under which they will raffle among members of the Royal Perks loyalty program prizes in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. USA Today reports.

The prize pool comprises 20 BTC, 200 ETH and 2 million DOGE. Over the three weeks, US-based customers who spend more than $5 at Burger King will become entrants in the draw. To claim a win, they will need to sign up for Robinhood.

“Most of the prizes are offered in Dogecoin; a few lucky winners will receive 1 ETH or 1 BTC,” said Maria Posada, Vice President of Digital Services at Burger King North America.

In September Burger King introduced a collection of non-fungible tokens as part of the Keep It Real Meals advertising campaign featuring musicians Nelly, Anitta and LILHUDDY.

In July, the Brazilian Burger King launched Dogpper dog biscuits with a grilled-meat flavour. The product can be paid for in Dogecoin.
