Casa adds Bitcoin buying via its mobile app

Casa, a custody provider, has added the ability to buy bitcoin directly through its mobile app. In the initial phase, the feature is available in the United States and Europe using Apple Pay.

According to statement from the company, the ability to buy bitcoin is implemented in partnership with the Wyre payment provider. With the minimum verification level, the BTC purchase limit is $250 per day and $1,500 before completing enhanced KYC.

The company plans to raise the purchase limits in the near term.

The purchase fee for bitcoin will be $0.30. American cardholders will incur an additional 2.9% of the amount, international cardholders 3.9%. A transaction fee is also charged to the user.

The move is designed to secure the process of purchasing cryptocurrency and save users time, the company says.

“By integrating the ability to buy bitcoin directly into the secure user wallet, we remove difficulties in purchasing cryptocurrency, and we also eliminate steps at which a customer is vulnerable to losses, theft or fraud,” said Casa CEO Nick Neuman.

The company plans to expand the list of supported countries and to add the ability to buy bitcoin with Google Pay.

Last year, Casa unveiled a solution that enables holders to pass their bitcoins to heirs after death.

In June the company released a beginner-friendly bitcoin wallet that does not require verification.
