Celsius Network contributes the final 25,000 ETH to Ethereum 2.0 launch

The Celsius Network crypto-lending service has deposited the final 25,000 ETH into the Ethereum 2.0 deposit contract, according to a company press release.

Funds come from Celsius community assets. They will be used to generate higher yields for the community. Users of the crypto platform will earn up to 7.21% per year on ETH and 3–15% per year on more than 40 cryptocurrencies.

“We are proud to have unlocked the Ethereum 2.0 Genesis block. The 25,000 ETH deposit from the Celsius community is our contribution to a project that helped us scale our own ecosystem,” said Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky.

What is Ethereum 2.0?

At the time of publication, the balance of the contract stood at 724,224 ETH and 22,625 validators.

As of November 24, more than 524,288 ETH had been deposited into the deposit contract внесли. Launch of Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 is scheduled for December 1.
