ChatGPT’s new Tasks feature will remind you to walk the dog

OpenAI has launched Tasks, a new capability that lets users ask ChatGPT to perform an action at a future time.

Users can set one-off reminders or recurring tasks—for example, sending a daily news briefing or reminding you to walk the dog.

Other examples of how it can be used include:

Tasks is available in beta to paying Plus, Pro and Teams subscribers. Wider access will follow.

The expanded voice mode cannot yet be used to set tasks.

To access the service, select “4o with scheduled tasks” in the ChatGPT menu. From there, you can chat with the bot to set reminders and tasks.

Tasks is the first step toward launching full-fledged AI agents, which OpenAI is developing under the codename Operator”.

In January, OpenAI chief Sam Altman said a full launch would take place this year.

That month, Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi expressed confidence that AI agents would become the crypto community’s main narrative in 2025.

In December, a number of other experts expressed a similar view—neural networks will transform cryptocurrencies in the future.

Contrary to popular belief, a developer under the nickname Kyle said that AI agents will lose relevance in the coming months.
