The startup Agibot has introduced a series of five humanoid robot models designed for domestic and industrial tasks, according to SCMP.
“Over the past year, we have made several breakthroughs in research and product development. We are now at the forefront of the industry,” said the company’s CEO, Peng Zhihui.
The flagship bipedal robot, Yuanzheng A2, stands 175 cm tall, weighs 55 kg, and is equipped with various sensors and artificial intelligence that allow it to see, hear, and understand text, sound, and visual information.
Deliveries of the Yuanzheng A2 are expected to begin in October. The company plans to sell 300 units by the end of the year. Agibot aims to compete with Tesla’s Optimus androids, noted Executive Director Jiang Qingsong.
“We do not think the difference between them [Optimus and Agibot] will be significant. Our ability to commercialize and control costs is better than Tesla’s,” he stated.
In August, Elon Musk’s company opened a position for training Optimus with a salary of up to $48 per hour.
Previously, the billionaire stated that humanoid robots could raise the company’s market capitalization to $25 trillion. He promised to start limited production in 2025.
