Citi forex chief to leave bank for digital assets role

The head of Citi’s forex department, Itay Takman, after 20 years with the bank, will pursue a career in the digital assets industry. The Block reported.

Takman was a key architect in integrating the new asset class into the product lineup of one of the largest universal banks in the United States.

According to the publication, over the past year at least 15 senior Citi executives have moved to work at companies such as Copper, Coin Fund, Paxos, Genesis, and Provenance.

In November 2021, Citigroup announced the launch of сфокусированного на криптовалютах подразделения within its Institutional Clients Group. 100 specialists were planned to be hired for the new business unit.

In June, the financial conglomerate, together with infrastructure company Metaco, began work on пилотным проектом платформы for storing and managing digital assets.
